Flower chafer in Xiamen — travel photograph from Fujian, China. The metallic green-gold beetle with white spots is most likely Protaetia brevitarsis, the white-spotted flower chafer (白星花金龟), one of the most common large beetles in China. They belong to the Cetoniinae subfamily of Scarabaeidae, are strong daytime fliers, and feed on flower pollen, nectar and sap.
